- Various coloring procedures can be used in order to produce colors such as black, bronze or bright colors : For bright and black colors, e.g. different organic Alumino dyes are used. With the electrolytical coloring on the basis of tin(II) sulfate, color shades ranging from light bronze to bronze to black are produced. Ready-to-use products (containing a stabilizer and tin(II)-sulfate) such as Alficolor 677 are available, but also additives for the tin(II)-sulfate solution, such as Alficolor 697. Moreover e.g. the Alfisteel process (Alficolor 680) will allow a coloring of aluminium in stainless steel optic. Shades in wood and earth hues can be achieved by the Terra – ColorAL – process (Alficolor 650 – Alficolor 651) and copper colors by the Copper – ColorAL – process (Alficolor 672 – Alficolor 692). In combination with mechanical pretreatment (e.g. brushing, grinding) those colors will look very decorative on anodized aluminium.
